Why Hungary

Three reasons to consider Hungary in 2026.

01 — Stipendium Hungaricum

The scholarship that changes the cost calculation entirely.

The Stipendium Hungaricum is a Hungarian government scholarship programme that covers: full tuition waiver, monthly living allowance (HUF 43,700–140,000 depending on level), accommodation in student dormitory or accommodation fee. Nigerian students are eligible. The application is competitive — strong academic records and a compelling study plan are required. ZSR has supported students through successful Stipendium applications.

02 — Semmelweis University

One of Central Europe's most respected medical schools.

Semmelweis University in Budapest has a 250-year history as a medical institution and consistently ranks among Europe's top medical schools. Its English-taught MD programme is EU-accredited and accepted by the GMC (UK) and ECFMG (USA) pathways.

03 — Budapest Living

A world-class European capital at Eastern European prices.

Budapest is consistently ranked among Europe's best cities for students — low cost, high culture, strong public transport, and a growing international student community. Living costs are €600–€900/month, below Warsaw, below Prague, and a fraction of London or Dublin.
